Senior Backend Engineer

The Role
As a full-time Senior Backend Engineer and one of our early technical hires, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and scaling our backend systems. You’ll make high-impact architectural decisions, tackle complex challenges, and help mentor junior engineers—all in an agile, collaborative environment where your ideas truly matter.
🚀 What You’ll Be Doing
- Build Robust Payment Solutions: Develop backend services that ensure a seamless digital and physical payment experience.
- Shape Our Architecture: Collaborate with seasoned engineers to define and implement scalable, serverless systems on AWS.
- Mentor & Lead: Guide 1-2 junior developers, fostering their growth and ensuring the highest coding standards.
- Drive Innovation: Contribute to team discussions, propose improvements, and help steer the evolution of our tech stack and platform.
🧠 What You’ll Need
- Experience: 5-7+ years in a demanding software engineering role.
- Technical Skills: Strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js.
- AWS Mastery: Proven experience building, testing, and deploying distributed, highly available serverless systems on AWS—not just EC2. Experience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, and OpenSearch is essential.
- Tooling & Methodologies: Familiarity with CDK or the Serverless Framework, microservices, event-driven programming, and automated testing.
- Communication: Excellent English skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.

- AWS certification.
- Experience with fintech, payment platforms, or SaaS products.
- Expertise in handling high-load systems and addressing scalability challenges.
- Background in fast-paced startup environments.
- Spanish language proficiency (B2+)

Senior Frontend Engineer

The Role
As a full-time Senior Frontend Engineer and one of our early technical hires, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and scaling our product. You’ll define how MONEI will look and feel, optimizing our payment flow to deliver the best user experience for our clients.
🚀 What You’ll Be Doing
- Build Exceptional User Interfaces: Develop engaging payment UI components, payment pages, merchant/admin dashboards, and seamless onboarding experiences.
- Define the User Experience: Translate business requirements into fully implemented, intuitive user interfaces—without always needing a designer.
- Drive Innovation: Actively contribute to team discussions, propose improvements, and help steer the evolution of our tech stack and platform
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with backend team to ensure a consistent and high-quality user experience.
🧠 What You’ll Need
- Experience: 5-7+ years building user interfaces with a strong grasp of UX best practices. You understand user behavior and can create clean, easy-to-use interfaces.
- Self-Starter: Ability to independently convert business requirements into functional user interfaces.
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise in TypeScript and ReactJS.
- Communication: Excellent English skills with the capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
💡 Bonus Points
- Experience working with GraphQL (AWS AppSync)
- Familiarity with NextJS
- Hands-on experience with AWS Amplify
- Experience working with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui
- Background in fast-paced startup environments
- Spanish language proficiency (B2+)
