MONEI Wins the 2026 Adigital Award for Scalability

On June 18th, MONEI received the 2026 Adigital Award in the Scalability category, during a ceremony held at the Fundación Francisco Giner de los Ríos in Madrid.
The Adigital Awards recognize organizations and initiatives that stand out for their contribution to economic growth through technology, driving a digitalization that empowers people and acts as a driving force behind Spain's digital transformation. In this 5th edition, the jury —made up entirely of women experts in technology, child protection, innovation, and digital trust— honored four projects across as many categories: Technovation Girls (Citizenship), Qilimanjaro (Innovation), Clara 2.0 by Prodigioso Volcán (Responsible Technology), and MONEI (Scalability).
The jury highlighted MONEI's growth since its founding in 2020: €197.5M processed in 2025, over 2,800 active merchants, and operational profitability achieved with a team of just 19 people, all of it self-funded. They also recognized the company's technology, which brings together Bizum, intelligent payment orchestration, machine-learning-based fraud detection, and Tap to Pay technology into a single platform built for SMEs.
Our CEO, Alex Saiz Verdaguer, accepted the award and later shared a reflection on LinkedIn that goes beyond the recognition itself:
"Europe can't just watch as others build the great tech companies of the future. We need more companies born here with the ambition to compete globally. More people willing to take risks. More confidence in our ability to lead."
