What is a virtual POS?

A virtual POS is an online payment terminal required to accept credit card and digital wallet payments through your e-commerce website. It’s a virtual point of sale for card-not-present transactions and is sometimes referred to as a merchant ID, merchant code, or merchant acquiring.

How to get a virtual POS?

First, you need to go to your acquiring bank to register for a virtual POS. Then you have to provide those credentials when you’re opening an account with a payment gateway.
