MONEI and Glop Close an Agreement to Revolutionize Payments in Physical Stores

• With this agreement, Glop customers can accept payments with credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, local payment methods, direct debit, and even Bizum.
• They can also charge through QR codes on purchase tickets.
• The partnership was presented at Glop’s recent POS software event, held to bring together 86 representatives from its distribution network in Spain.

MONEI, the fintech that simplifies and speeds up digital payments and Glop, the POS software used by more than 16,000 Spanish hospitality, food, fashion, and small commerce companies, have closed a strategic alliance to help digitize and simplify payments in physical stores. This agreement was presented during Glop’s POS software event that took place in Alicante and was attended by 86 representatives from its distribution network in Spain.

The convention marked the presentation of the latest version of Glop's POS, which incorporates MONEI as its main payment provider. Thanks to this strategic collaboration, Glop customers can now accept payments with credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, local payment methods, direct debit, and even Bizum.

Alex Saiz Verdaguer, founder and CEO of MONEI, has pointed out the boost that this agreement represents for improving the physical payment experience, “Both in the hospitality industry, a key sector for the Spanish economy with more than 325 thousand establishments and a contribution from 6.4% to our country's GDP, like the rest of the physical businesses, they need more efficient solutions to eliminate friction in payments and thus boost their turnover. The integration of our technology will allow businesses to streamline and personalize transactions, prioritizing convenience in payment processes."

Among the new functionalities available after the agreement, Glop PAY also stands out, an innovative solution that allows businesses to print a QR code on the invoice so the customer can scan it through their mobile phone and pay with their preferred method in a matter of seconds. The payment process is streamlined, employee travel is avoided, and table rotation is facilitated — in the case of hospitality businesses.

The POS software company also launched other tools like kiosks and self-order boxes, where when placing an order a QR code is displayed on the screen so customers can pay with Bizum or any other method of their choice. Likewise, Glop presents the Order and Pay system, which allows customers to place their orders from a restaurant table by scanning a QR code and paying for them immediately. As well as, online delivery services for restaurants with a wide range of payment methods. All this, with MONEI as its reference payment provider.
